We really are still aware of the fact that we have a family blog! Let's face it though, when summer time calls .....we answer!! So hence the absence! Here are a LOT of pictures to catch you up on our summer!

Elli Kate is growing like a WEED!

She started walking at 10 months...woah! Now she is into EVERYTHING!!

She LOVES watermelon, playing in the mud, walking always, smiling and scrunching up her tiny nose, dogs (any size) this child has NO FEAR! yogurt, her mommy (smile), playing games with her daddy, and outside!

She does NOT LIKE cutting 4 teeth at one time, veggies, having her diaper changed, any food that is not sweet (she comes by that honestly I'm afraid), walking on the grass!

We are trying to squeeze in a few friend trips in these last few weeks as well as have Elli Kate's birthday party the weekend before school starts!

Aaron and I both got new jobs, and we are SOOO excited about them! I will be moving to Irons Junior High to teach and coach (all in town games, less time and stress= more Elli belly time) and Aaron will be the varsity asst. basketball coach at Lubbock High School! We are also selling our house and moving into a little bit bigger one across town. So YEA! for change, and THANK YOU LORD for your crazy, fun, undeserved blessings!!

We are in the middle of Softball playoffs...Go Mustangs

Spring Break was lots of fun, maybe not too much of a BREAK, but any day you are a teacher and you don't go to school......trust me......ITS A BREAK! haha

Aaron went skiing with the "boys." Elli Kate and I got to hang out with TeeCee and shop and just have some much needed time off!

Aaron and his basketball team (asst coach) Estacado High school won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! We all went to Austin wore our BLUE AND SILVER, and cheered on the team. It was so much fun filled with family, great basketball, and of course a bit of shopping!!

It just about passed us by on here! I have not updated in a while! OOPS!

We are doing great, and staying busy of course! Aaron is right in the middle of basketball season. They are doing really well, and we are crossing our fingers that state tournament in the near future. I have been out of coaching since the end of October, and I must say it has been REALLY FUN hanging out extra will Elli belly!

She is getting so big! She is already 4 months old.

She loves grabbing anything she can get a hold of.
She rolls over from her belly to her back, and is super close to going the other way as well!
She is a TALKER! It is really funny ....I'm afraid when she is about 2 we will not know what silence is!
She has not quite mastered sleeping through the night, but she only wakes up one time at night, so we are surviving just fine!
She has started eating cereal, and if finally getting the hang of it. The first time she tried it, it all got spit back out. Pretty funny really!

Well CHEERS to another super fun weekend! TeeCee and the Woods and Waldrips came into town again for the Tech game, and we had such an exciting Halloween. Well actually we dressed Elli Kate up and didn't even take her trick or treating, but we took lots of fun pictures. Plus she was the cutest little snowgirl we have ever seen! We even painted her her tiny little nose orange like a carrot!
Then on Sunday we all went to church, and the nursery ladies said they wanted to keep our little Elli Belly! NO NO NO we want her! haha
Poor baby! Nobody loves her! ha!

Well half of a fun weekend I should say! We had lots of fun with family, BUT poor Texas Tech!?!? What is the deal?! WHO loses to aTm?? Sorry aggies, but REALLY! We are just struggling this year....all that said UNLIKE all those mean crazy "Tech fans" who are bandwagon, ya know only like Tech when they play well, I still love my Red Raiders, and hope they bounce back ASAP!! Goodness!

Anyway, the Woods and Waldrip's were here this weekend for the game, and we had lots of fun. Here are some pics of Elli Kate in her Estacado Blue workout suit (Daddy's school) AND her outfit to cheer on the Red Raiders! Her cousin Carter LOVES her and takes very good care of her when he is here. He told us that he wants to trade us Averi (his sis) for Elli. SILLY CARTER!

There is also a glimpse at what Elli is going to be for Halloween, home made costume! ha! Aaron drew this, and it cracked me up so I included it for you laughing pleasure. But stay tuned for the real costume. I am sure if Aaron and I are making it, it will be comical!

Last but not least, Elli and I have been putting miles on her new jogging stroller from Pappy and Nana. She looks tiny in it, but LOVES going for runs and walks!!

2 Months old!!

Well Yes! It is over a month later, and this sweet little girl of ours is 2 MONTHS OLD?!?! She is so much fun these days! Here is a short list of some of the things she learned in her 2 months of life!

SMILING! It melts my heart to see that precious toothless grin!

Baby arobics (ha) She kicks her legs and flails her arms like she is working out! (This may be a sign that we might have our hands full pretty soon)

holding onto Daddy's finger. It is just the right size to fit in her hand.

Swinging...she loves her swing, despite her need to be held that was displayed earlier in life! She has grown to love being snuggled up and swinging.

Cooing and grunting...just precious!

wearing bows! Mommy definitely taught her this one...daddy yanks them off! ha

Going on walks! Elli Kate LOVES anything outside!

Having a bit of cereal in her night time bottles...this might explain those sweet cheeks!

Watching Baby Einstein ...She looks like an old man sitting in a recliner catching up on the latest TV!

Making Mom and Dad, and anyone who might be visiting be at my beckon call with the sweet little "fake cry" she has learned!

and best of all .....

Bath time!! She LOVES LOVES taking baths and swimming and splashing, it is the highlight of her day!

Elli is 9 weeks and 3 days old...can't believe it! What a sweet sweet blessing she is...we wouldn't trade her for ANYTHING!!

Oh my goodness it has been a FULL MONTH since I have updated!! GOODNESS! Well what has happened since June 25th....lets see....Aaron and I and his parents went to Boston, New York, and Maine for a fun vacation as well as some of our good friends wedding in Belfast, Maine. It was soooo much fun, and BEAUTIFUL! Manhattan was incredible, and like no other place I have ever been....except for central park, I really don't think I saw any grass there! ha.. Boston, ahh, loved Boston. It is a bit of a slower pace but still has the city feel. Everything was very colonial and super clean and pretty. AND the Red Sox won while we were at Fenway....BONUS!!! Maine was vacation land, and was our last stop for Chase and Paige's wedding...Relaxing, fun and BEAUTIFUL right off of the ocean. (see pics at the bottom)

Also... Elli's Room is PRETTY much finished, but definitely needs a few finishing touches....the bedding (coming very soon..thanks to the best sister and mother in law EVER) and hanging some pictures and the rocker from dear old dad! So take it with a grain of salt, but I think it will turn out really cute! More later when it is OFFICIALLY finished!

Aaron had a birthday and turned the big 2-6! He was off of work YEAH! and we made him breakfast with all his favorite foods, then cooked out at a friends house that night...He had TWO birthday cakes AND Rice Krispies!!

I have grown into a very large basketball....*WARNING* if pregnant bellies gross you out...COVER YOUR EYES! haha!

Well Hello There!

We are back in action, or should I say finally out of acti on....an d have a bit of down time to catch up!
I decided there are lots of fun events that I have not shared cute pictures of lately. Shame on me! So here we go....less talk more look...Samuel (Aaron's little brother) who he has had through big brother's big sister's since he was nine yrs old, graduated from Coronado High School this year. Adrienne (Samuel's mom) had shirts made for everyone to support Samuel at graduation. It was so cute!
I am very proud of our little Coronado Softball girls! This is not the best picture, but it's the only handy softball one I have available. They went to the Regional Semi-Finals this year and ended up losing to Flowermound Marcus, who advanced to the State Tournament. Such a fun year!My 28 week pregnant belly pic. About 6 months.Aaron and our AWESOME friends planting a few trees in our backyard! I know you were in complete suspence for that update weren't you??Our sweet sweet niece and nephew came to visit last weekend while Aaron's track girls ran at the regional track meet.So much fun at Erin's shower. Becca, Erin and I! Miss them so much! Bec and I are both having little girls!

And the last fun news that I don't have a picture for...is that lots of relay's and Aaron's hurdlers advanced to the State Track Meet, which is where we will be this weekend! GO LADY MATS!

Oh my goodness belly...I mean Ellie

So maybe some of you think, or should I say THOUGHT, that Ashley was the girl who always loved to work out, go running, lift weights, stay in shape...even on Christmas and Thanksgiving Day....YEAH um about that........

The belly, aka Ellie, is making me feel REALLY PREGNANT lately! I just thought I would "be-bop" right through this pregnant thing. Well thankfully for the most part I have (Thanks Lord,) but yes yes, lately I have noticed that I am officially pregnant! haha

Update on Ellie Kate....She weighs aprox. 1.5 lbs maybe a bit more, but ya know. AND I am pretty sure she does Dance Dance Revolution when I lie down at night. She gets after it!

But really I am totally kidding about all the complaining part! Just because I got told today that I am starting to "waddle," I have been crazy blessed to feel great the entire time!

Oh yes, and excuse the REALLY WHITE-ness I have going on in the belly area! haha!

So I have a quesiton...... We are still deciding how to SPELL Ellie Kate?!?! Do you like Elli Kate or Ellie Kate?!?!

Ok so here is what has been going on.....

I have been teaching and coaching at a high school here in Lubbock. I love my job, and the people I work with! (I am not just saying that. They really are wonderful.) Well earlier this year I went to what they call a transfer fair thinking maybe I would just teach next year and not coach. (Since Aaron coaches as well)

Well long story short...there was a time period when I was really nervous about would I have a job, would I just teach or would I be able to still coach? It was up in the air.

Ok ....this is not a question you really want to be asking knowing that you are expecting a CHILD! haha! But YEA YEA YEA for the Lord and His perfect timing always working out the details.

I will continue to teach and coach, missing most of vball season, I am off as far as coaching goes during the fall, Christmas, etc. so the only crazy time will be during softball season, but I am sure Ellie will enjoy being spoiled by all the family members and friends who can be around then!! AND I even get to teach HEALTH and PE!!

So I have big news...

WE FINALLY FINISHED THE FENCE!! Yes, that was our spring break "adventure." Our fence needed work....BAD, and we took it on ourselves. (plus Daddo, Nonnie, Tanner, and a few friends)

Our backyard is HUGE for our little house and it seemed like it took us FOR....EV....ERRRR!

and look at the poor puppies in their mini cage for the last few weeks..... grass anyone?

Ok so I am back!

Goodness, today was a day where I woke up and thought, "Man, it's going to be a good day!" I got lots of sleep last night, and I had my "good" classes to teach today. (teachers you know what I mean! ha!) WELL, even though I was a bit to busy to notice I was just simply stinkin TIRED today!

What in the world?? Cletus the fetus (as Aaron calls our baby....yes it's true) makes me SLEEPY SLEEPY!

Ok so back to Aaron calling the baby CLETUS! hahaha, he is so sweet though. Every morning when we wake up he says "Good Morning Cletus" I just laughed out loud!! and he will periodically check on him/her...talking to yes, still.....Cletus!!

Don't worry, we are NOT naming our child CLETUS, but I am sure it will make for some good laughs for the poor kid!

Random I'm Afraid!

So it's been a little bit since I updated you guys on us!

Here we go...and I am warning you now this could be my scatterbrained mind at it's best!

So I just tried to post pictures from our wonderful, beautiful, ski trip AMAZING, but I am on the world's slowest computer, and Aaron has the other one with him at school so look forward to those!
We went to Dillon, Colorado and stayed with Bryan Dean who was so sweet to let us crash at his place for a few days! We skied Keystone the first day, Vail, then Brekenridge the last day. It was such a fun get away and change of pace from work! so yea for that!!

Funny story from the ski trip: Aaron and I were driving back on Tuesday, and I had fallen asleep. Well when I woke up he told me (while laughing) that my hair looked like a lion's mane, "AND YOU HAVE A SIDE PONYTAIL!! HAHAHAA"

Aaron: "Woah 80's girl"

haha shows you how much he pays attention, he thought my hair was sooooo messed up that it moved my ponytail to the side!! REALLY!

Some more exciting news: Cole and Abbi got engaged!!! We had a sweet engagement party for them on Saturday night, and it turned out perfectly! Cole's dad grilled steaks and TONS of other food for everyone and it was SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD!!
Wedding date: More than likely July 17 or 18th!!

Call me cliche, but I'm THANKFUL!

So maybe it is cliche, but it's good to say the things you are thankful for!! So just to name a few.........

I am thankful for my salvation, and that Jesus would even think about loving ME?! goodness...... I am thankful that my brother is completely healed from cancer -three times, for family, for time off work to spend with them, for our health, for babies, my high school kiddos, smiles, happy people, hot chocolate, conversation with good friends, encouraging words, tough situations that God sees us through, despite all frustrations.....passing my Spanish Test!

I am thankful for the chance to get excited for people in their FUN situations, Christmas time, the sacrifice of God's only son, no debt from college, seeing life play out, and getting to know new people. I am thankful for mountains, hot chocolate, and the best husband in the world.

I am thankful for a warm place to sleep each night, and the ability to pay our bills every month, neices and nephews, GRANDPARENTS, and sweets! I can't even begin to mention everything I am thankful for, but it is nice to have a few days to take time out, relax, and JUST BE THANKFUL!!

I know....you are probably one of those people who say you shouldn't decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving, BUT we have to work on Monday and Tuesday, and then it will be the day before Thanksgiving......so lighten up.....and get out the tree, because it is SOOOOO much fun!

Can I just say a few things that I did NOT do.......

I did not eat two desserts after dinner tonight....NOPE NEVER

I did not skip lifting weights so I could cuddle on the couch with my husband and great dane, and of course I did not throw a small fit the other day because I wanted the gold fish and Aaron would not let me have them.....that would just be childish.

I did not fall asleep last night without brushing my teeth....GROSS. haha

I am NOT totally excited for the end of the week so I can cheer my RED RAIDERS on to VICTORY!!!

Just like I have not listened to Christmas music since the second week of November OR beg my husband to let me put up the Christmas decorations......

the closest I got was him building a fire in our outdoor firepit in the backyard.....it was still very Colorado..ish, Christmas..ish and WONDERFUL!!

Of course I would never do any of this.....nope NOT ME!

Well here it comes, the weekend everyone at our house and town for that matter, has waited on all week!

The streets are already crazy and crowded, tents are lined up around the block at the stadium, and I get butterflies in my stomach thinking about TECH doing work on the longhorns. YES LOWERCASED!

and to make it EVEN BETTER, our family and three of my best friends are coming into town! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I love it!

We were Rob and Big last night at Paige and Mark's Halloween Party! Aaron was SOO FUNNY! Most of the people there really thought he was black! haha!

Oh and cover your eyes when you look at the picture of Ricky Bobby and Borat! His costume was a THONG in the back! OH my goodness, it was funny....It was a tie breaker for best costume between Big Black and Borat, and Borat won by one vote!

Ramblings 101

Yes I can tell it is going to be one of THOSE........

Not a super fun look at all my fun pictures, nope, my brain is racing again and I am going to let my little fingers type it all out!!

Random thought 1: I just got back from a high school/junior high youth group where Barron Batch spoke(running back for TECH.) God did an INCREDIBLE job through him! It was very cool to see kids look up to him yet he gave ALL the glory to his Father!

At this very same function, we happen to be sitting behind some junior high kids, maybe even freshmen..... I almost broke a ten commandment, the one about killing people. If I am ever around you, and I throw out the idea that I think it would be fun to teach or coach at the Jr. High level....SLAP ME! I almost pinched their little heads off! AHH! they were being totally rude and loud while some people were making some big decisions....

That being said I could tell I was letting myself get frustrated with them, so I prayed for them. NOT to brag on Ashley, but because I was so quickly reminded that they too are His kiddos, His very own! I REALLY have a whole new appreciation for God's patience, as well as those who work with that age. I am not kidding when I say you are set apart and special! WOW

random 2: I am in LOVE with the song that is playing right now on our blog, ....I am not my own. I've been carried by you all my life......its just so true, and thank goodness!

random 3: I have had an idea bouncing around in my head about getting stuff together for some local kids at Christmas time. I want to be really intentional about it, and get lots of people involved, but at the same time let it be a learning experience as to how stinkin blessed we all are, and not let any glory go to those involved. Instead to our Father who has blessed us and provided for us.....so if you have any great ideas let me know......I want my/or any highschool kids to be a part of it as well.

4: I have had a really good day. I say that because Wednesdays are usually just well, Wednesdays, but today for some reason I have just been joyful, it's fun, I want to be like this all the time!

5: I have been studying like CRAZY for my spanish test that is on Saturday, so if you are one of the 3 people who read this, will you pray for me to be poised and relaxed and well as remember everything I have studied?>!! I think I can kick it's butt, but it's really tough so we'll see about that!

6. I love my husband!

That's all, I just took a deep breath...it felt good to get that all out!

Who knew this could be therapeutic! ha

I just have to admit something.

It is always in the back of my mind, not to go through each day like it is just a list of things to be marked off. I don't walk around telling people that I TRY to be intentional like this, it is just always a GOAL I have.

Well let me tell you about this week. ... Absolutely, Positively, ONE OF THOSE WEEKS

I am not kidding about this people, it was one thing after another, after another that had to be done, deadlines, trips, volleyball, rescheduling, etc etc etc....

and just to top it off, I left Saturday morning at 5:30 AM DROVE THE BUS, yes I drove the BIG YELLOW SCHOOL BUS, to Amarillo for my vball girls to play in a tournament and did not get home until 9:00 PM on Sat. night. Tired is not the word!

Sunday one the other hand was such a breath of fresh air! Isn't God sweet to do that? God completely spoke through our preacher at church about how everything is beautiful in it's time and being joyful day in and day out. AND we sat by some of our friends that we defintely don't get to see enough!

We are back in full gear! The kiddos are back and almost an entire week has past. Aaron is teaching 2 PE classes and 2 study halls...tough I know! He loves his classes and seems to be having a great year so far. His cross country started up and they are practicing a bit after school everyday.

I have 3 Spanish II classes and 1 PE class. My classes are great and my volleyball girls are off to a good start as well. FUN FUN, but BUSY BUSY!

I feel like we have to recover every night just to be ready for the next day! ha!

Well folks, volleyball is completely underway and things around here are gearing up again as usual. We have been doing 2 a days, so it has been pretty crazy around here, but lots of fun. The people we both work with are awesome, so if we have to be at work , at least they make it lots of fun!

I'll be honest, I actually snuck(sp?) in a nap today while Aaron went to hang out with JC. So that was wonderful.

Aaron just got back from playing 4 beautiful golf courses in Dallas with Clay and Rylan and had so much fun. And while I don't have pictures, I DO have some of Carter's Golf birthday party, (he turned 3,) and Abbi and I watching a chick flick and eating popcorn and peanut M&M's. (Which if you have not tried as a snack, you are missing out)

Recipe: One bag kettle corn
One bag peanut M&M's = YUMMY.....just make sure a few of each are in your mouth at the same time for sweet and salty perfection!! (As seen above...ha)

Last official day of summer!

What a sad/happy day it is.

Today is Ashley's last REAL day of summer. I mean sure school does not start until August 25th, but tomorrow I have to report back to work to start getting things organized for volleyball for when the girls come on the 4th.

So today I will try to fit in all of my favorite things (in Lubbock at least...)

Pedicure
Ride my bicycle around our fun neighborhood
Go running
Watch 2 super girly movies I rented
get a snowcone at Bahama Bucks
Dinner at 82nd Street Cafe
play ball with the dogs
maybe do a bit of shopping

all while missing my husband who has about 2.5 more weeks of summer and is on a super fun, pack all the golf you can into 3days, trip in Dallas with some of his buddies!

Can you tell I am jealous??

You should know that I have not had a traffic ticket since I was a senior in high school.

On this lovely Thursday afternoon I was being so productive getting all kinds of appointments in before the crazy volleyball season gets started. I was on a role...Aaron and I both got eye appointments I got my hair highlighted and cut as well as a dentist appointment. I was feeling like we were pretty on top of things.....until I decided to drive down the new Marsha Sharp freeway. "This thing is great," says Aaron. "We would have already stopped at 3 lights if we took 19th." As we pass a radar that tells you how fast you are going. Ashley- "Oh I better slow down, I am going 52 in a 40." Aaron- "Nahh it's fine"

I am so lame, and still going 53, that the cop holding a radar gun who obviously just clocked me SPEEDING waves his hand for me to pull over.....

He didn't even have to chase me!!!

He definitely gave me a ticket, but was the nicest guy.

I don't really know how I felt about him being so nice, it kind of got on my nerves!

What a fun summer it has been, lots of family, friends, Cruising, Dallas trip as well as Colorado! How blessed we are to have a job that gives us a break in the summer! SO FUN!!

AND we are in Dallas this week for Coaching school/ hanging out with our long lost millions of Dallas area friends.

ANDDDD then Saturday we are off to Heaven on earth, oh, I mean Colorado. SO it has been pretty crazy!!

I've been thinking....

So I've been thinking... the only thing that makes life worth living is Jesus Christ. Yes I did just throw that out there, but really it's true. Why do I get up in the morning? Why do I have such amazing family and friends? Why have I gone through trials ? Why was I allowed to go through college and get a great job? Why do I lose my phone every time I go some where? Why do I have a husband who loves Jesus, but friends at work who may not know Him?

It all comes back to just one thing......Him.

Yes I know Christ is so controversial these days, but that's just silly. Anyway here is where all this is going.... Do you ever feel like you are waiting until the right time to "go all out" for Jesus.

Like for example, Aaron and I have this thing that is very close to our hearts. Tithing. yea yea, the 10% thing you say. No, more than that. We like to give our tithe to people who are in need. In other words we are "THOSE PEOPLE." The ones at church who don't put money in the plate every time it is passed around.

We are just very practical in this area. I mean if I know a friend who can't afford to pay the electric bill this month, why not pay it for them. And what if it is more than 10%???? Are we willing to give out of our poverty just as we would right after we got paid?

Don't take this as us tooting our horn, because there have been 101 and time that I have second guessed what God would have me do, and therefore missed a chance to change someone's life. Here is my point.......... I am not going to wait anymore for the RIGHT moment to do something, or the perfect time to bless someone. FORGET IT!!!

EVERY DAY, EVERY MINUTE, EVERY HOUR.......I am going to find a way to let other people know that they are loved and they are worth it!!!

The first things that pop into my mind......
1. Go buy 20 dollars worth of breakfast sandwiches on Sat. morning and hand them out to whoever, people in line, people on the street.......whoever
2. Make sure my friends at work know they are loved by Jesus Christ himself, even if they think I am a Bible beater, goodie goodie, whatever! ITS WORTH IT!
3. Call my grandmothers and tell them I love them.
4. Make sure my husband knows He is the best husband in the world!
5. Send my friends some mail, REAL hand written MAIL!!!

I'm sure I will think of some more, but in the mean time.......DON'T WAIT!

Go bless someone! WHY you ask........I dunno, just blame it on HIM!!

Aaron is in San Angelo this weekend with the track girls at Regionals and I am about to walk out the door to go to Abilene to scout softball while my softball children are playing El Paso in the first round of the playoffs today!

Say a prayer for success and safety for all our girls!!! Hopefully we will finish this weekend with Aaron's track girls going to STATE and mine off to the next round!!!

OH MY GOODNESS! Just a little weather update from west Texas.....

FREEZING today with the wind blowing like CRAZY!!!

but every other day this week has been ya know, 85!

and.....

I went to watch Sayre Grace play t-ball today, and I don't know if you watch t-ball very often, but it was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Not only are they ALL tiny with these massive helmets, ha! but sometimes instead of throwing the ball to first base they would race the batter to first base. So you clearly put your best player at pitcher. If a ball were to make it to the outfield it looked like a little kids soccer game.......race to the ball! hahaha, I can just picture the little rascals running to see who could get there first.

Goodness! Where have we been? The answer to that... on the track, at Estacado, maybe at 82nd Street Cafe......or on the softball field, or even in a classroom at Coronado....any of the above would be a fair guess. But just know that it has been fun! and speaking of fun......YEA FOR SPRING!! Doesn't it make you smile when everything is turning green and flowers are blooming? I just LOVE it! Maybe it really is because of the warm weather and God's glory seeming to shine through, but I would by lying if I said it had nothing to do with the fact that there are 33 days of school left.

I have heard a lot of neat quotes or uplifting ideas lately...I don't know what it is recently, but they seem to all come around the same time. So just thought I would share!

Tell the truth.....all the time. (This guy said, I'll take an honest person over a hip one any day...honesty lasts forever, hip it temporary.) pretty good point!

"Don't tell people how to live their lives, tell them stories and they will figure out how that applies to their life." Sounds like everyone's grandmother doesn't it?

I heard a guy with REALLY BAD cancer say, " Sometimes you walk off the football field and you gave absolutely everything you had, but the score did not turn out how you wanted it." He said, "I am not going to beat this cancer, but I am going to give absolutely everything I have until it is time for me to walk off the field." ( This was the most fun positive person I had seen, despite his condition!)

What a great perspective on life! If you are interested in his book, it is called The Last Lecture. I can't think of the author's name, but I will get that to you!

It is fun learning new perspectives and becoming incredibly thankful for each "tiny moment" that we are given each day.

Laughing with my students in class.
dodging a softball thrown at me and not the person CATCHING IN! ha

having my husband come home and kiss me on the lips!!!
all of this making me realizing God is perfect and loves us oh so much! GOODNESS!

1. Cleaned OUT our room and bathroom
2. changed oil
3. scooped poop (our favorite)
4. stained the bathroom and put up a new light fixture
5. painted and textured Tanner's room
6. went grocery shopping and dropped off Aaron's clothes at the drycleaners
7. AMAZING amounts of laundry

still on the to do list....TAXES! we prefer to wait until the last minute for EVERYTHING!

Kids yet?

No don't get any ideas!!

We are not having kids yet. ha ha. That actually makes me laugh out loud just thinking of me being in charge of another person's life. I try so hard to be organized, but there is just not one organizational bone in my body. This just HAS to be a genetic thing right?

I feel quite certain I will leave my child at Walmart at least once in his life. Poor thing. How would you like to pop into the world and look up and see Aaron and I? .....and ask God, "Are you serious?" "You gave me to THEM?"

hahahahahahahaha! I am totally kidding..... When we do have kids they will be loved so much they won't be able to stand it, we will teach them all about Jesus who loves them even more than us....we will dress them in jordan shorts/shoes and big bows....they will get to play in the mud...they will have the BEST cousins in the world (shout out to Carter and Averi and the third baby by the time we have kids! ha) ....they will get to go to the park , and ride on Krunch's back like a horse......ahhh just the thought makes me smile.........but still......doesn't rush me!

All that to say that being around kids (high school kids) on a daily basis has taught me so much about life and ones influence on things. There is not a day that goes by that the Lord has not caught my attention through my high schoolers or Aaron's.

Example #1: (my personal favorite) There is a sweet sweet girl at EHS that all year long Aaron has taken under his wing, and really kind of had a sweet spot for. She is a really good kid with a sweet family, pregnant mom, and dad is not really in the picture. Anyway Aaron has done lots of great things for them, like rides, food, etc. You know practicle things you need help with being a mom of 3 with not lots of help. Anyway recently she started calling Aaron "Dad." Her theory was that, "Aaron you are my dad #2, because I have to have a real dad, but you are the one I like."

#2: This girl I had in my PE class is always in just an OKAY mood. Never too happy, but not like depressed by any means! Anyway, she stopped and asked me Friday before spring break, "Coach, why are you always so nice?" "Don't you get tired of us?" haha, I say that to point out two things. #1 My attitude that day MAY have been a little BLAH, if you will, with it being the friday before spring break. and #2. God has a fun way of reminding us that He loves us. EVEN on the Friday before spring break when you think everyone is just going through the motions!

LOVE IT!

anyway I am off to bed, and a note to all....maybe my memories of kids right now are so fond from the sheer fact that it is SPRING BREAK. Ask me again next week!

Aaron and I watched a really good movie tonight....The Kingdom. It has Jamie Fox and Jenniefer Garner. Lots of good people and a really really good movie if you are interested in middle east stuff!

Things we discovered this weekend.....

1. Aaron and I are the biggest procrastinators EVER. (this is not the first weekend we have realized this.)

2. There is no such thing as a weekend if you are a coach, but I did get to see my MOMMY this "weekend." Is tomorrow already Monday?

3. I LOVE GEORGE STRAIT!!!......(I was very aware of this before today though)

4. We serve AN AWESOME GOD!!

5. and even though we love Jesus, we STILL forgot to set our clocks forward and woke up 3 min before church.......oops

6. One week until spring break!!

7. I have discovered that praying for people you don't even know, is very fun!

Ok I really really have to share because lately at bed time my mind has been going CRAZY. 90 miles per hour. loco. outta control. It doesn't all go together. In fact it is actually very scatterbrained, but then again that's the way I operate!! All that to say here are some of the million thoughts, funny moments, insightful words, and pics that find themselves in my thoughts every night at 11 pm!

Another very fun thing happened to me this last week.....I had an issue come up that I really did not know the right way to handle. I really don't need to POST the issue, ha, but the fun thing about it was God completely spoke to me about the perfect way to handle it once through Aaron, and then again on Sunday through the absolutely surprising message at church. And yeah! it's getting worked out HIS way, not mine!

Random thought # 57: Last weekend Aaron and I and another coach took the FCA kids from EHS to a Lady Raider Game. Lots of fun!!!

I also tried a new recipe: Apple Dumplings/Turnovers (whatever you want to call them! ha!)

One can of cresent rolls
1/2 cup sugar
2 tea spoons cinnomon
1 stick of butter
8 0z mountain dew
one BIG green granny apple

mix and melt the sugar, cinnamon, butter, and I added vanilla......mix all together
cut the apple in 8ths and wrap the cresent rolls around each slice - one per roll
spray the pan, put the rolls stuffed with apples in the pan. Pour the butter mixture over the top of the cresent rolls. Last pour the mountain dew over everything and bake at 350 for 35-45 min!! ITS AMAZING!! eat with vanilla ice cream!!

to have a GREAT WEEKEND!!! We are full of track meets and softball tourneys and all the fun of hanging out with high school kiddos, so in case we don't talk to you this weekend.....We hope its relaxing and fun!!!

Worship!

Sometimes days seem so busy and crazy and everything starts to run together and you just feel like you are around just to mark things off of lists.......BUT today, yes this Thursday February 21st....it is just a good day to worship. Not asking for anything or being consumed by the million things around us, but just to stop and worship. Tell God just how perfect He is, and just to realize the most important thing about today, the most important thing in all the world is Jesus Christ! Not just for me, but for every person in the world..........He's just good, REALLY REALLY good!!
Finish strong.....stay obedient!!

Lots of fun this week........ Sunday Aaron and I set up another bed in the room that was previously the office. It turned out pretty cute! We always felt so bad when there were people that would come stay with us and one would get the guest bedroom and the other well.........the floor! ha! So if you want to come and stay with us now.....you will have a bed!!
More exciting news.... the Lady Matadors won their first playoff basketball game and my girls beat the Lady Matadors in our FIRST softball game!! So this week has produced lots of W's!! Hopefully that is a trend that continues, and not that we are counting, but there is about 14 weeks of school left! ha

CRAZY!

So I thought this would be a great idea and then I have not kept up with it very well! But I am going to try and work a bit harder at it! Aaron and I are still having so much fun even though our schedules are absolutely CRAZY!! He is about to start playoffs with the EHS girls as he is in the middle of coaching girls track! I started softball season and the girls are doing really well. Our first scrimmage was canceled because of snow, but we played a double header today and they did great. We have had lots of family and friends visiting and staying with us at the house and we just LOVE IT!! Tomorrow, Superbowl.....dont really know who we are going for. Not a huge fan of either team, and the cowboys didn't exactly help us out, but I am sure it will still be fun!

We debated having a blog...maybe they are WEIRD or maybe silly, but then we thought if nothing else it would be a fun way to have a journal of our lives together! Plus we aren't near ALL of our old friends so its a good way to keep up with everyone!!
